Fall 2021 Review

Fall 2021 was United's first season of league play!

United referees, led by Jerry Gonzales and Moe Shafai, created a safe, fun, and fair environment at Nugget Fields. Spectators from both United and opponents appreciated the quality fields, easy access to, and overall atmosphere of our home.

2009G Blue, 2005B Blue, and 2004B Blue all got first place in their divisions
2 teams made it to the Round of 16 in NorCal State Cup

Over 300 hours of coaching education was completed; culminating in all United coaches having a USSF 9v9 License or higher

Teams used their VOICEs to support community organizations including STEAC, Yolo Food Bank, and Davis AYSO. Initial estimates are over 200 hours of service completed by the organization.

To our referees, coaches, players, parents, and donors- thank you. We are just getting started.

United families were asked to complete a brief survey about their experience with the United program from June - November 2021. 142 families responded and full results are being analyzed now! Here's a sneak peak into some of the positives.

When asked to give 1-3 highlights of the overall experience one thing stood out: Great coaching

118 of the 142 respondents rated their coaching team with the highest rating. Many mentioned that their coaches were experienced, provided fair playing time, emphasized team bonding, and set the right intensity for training sessions.

As one parent on the survey put it "So grateful- They exemplify the term « role models » and the kids are working together and growing as players. What could be better?"

This Fall, coaches participated in over 300 cumulative hours of education led by our Director of Coaching, Adam Lewin. Coaches participated in United specific training relating to club play styles. Then, many took 3 United States Soccer Federation (USSF) courses. United coaches model what is means to be a life long learn and always striving for better. Thank you coaches!

Other words and sentiments that popped up repeatedly were fun environment, supportive team, great development, close games, and good competition.

AYSO United Davis is excited to continue to deliver a soccer experience grounded in AYSO Philosophies and aligned with the advanced development needs of youth players in our community. What a great first season with many more to come!
