It’s Tryout Time!

Get ready for an exhilarating time ahead! If you have a player born between 2014 and 2006 with a passion for soccer, this email is for you. Below, you'll find information on crucial dates, our lead coaches, costs, and more for your community-based soccer club.

Tryout Dates and Times

Tryouts will take place at Nugget Fields (1801 Moore Blvd in Davis). Everyone tries out every year and any one is invited out. Tryout times and information can be found on our website. As the dates tick closer we send additional age group specific information about what to expect and the offer process to those that have pre-registered.

Tryouts can be a nerve wracking time. We encourage anyone with questions to email [email protected] ahead of time so we can answer them. Our processes aim to provide a welcoming and fair experience for everyone from tryout to offering and onboarding.

Lead Coaches

Our coaching squad brings some serious soccer chops and intelligence to the table for player education. But, more than that, these coaches are truly amazing humans that are community-oriented, engaged in their teams, and dedicated to the United mission.

Coaches are supported by team managers and also the AYSO United Davis leadership crew (some of whom are pictured below). Everyone’s number one goal every season is that kids are having fun while playing soccer. This leads to players continuing to play, continuing to develop, and for soccer to continue enriching their lives.

In addition to being Safe Sport certified, coaches are equipped with comprehensive safety training including concussion recognition and cardiac arrest management. Each lead coach is supported by one or two fully trained assistant or co-coaches as well. All coaches receive club sponsored USSF coach training with many enrolling in the USSF D license course this coming summer!

AYSO United Davis is prepared to form additional teams if the need arises. The goal in forming additional teams is to ensure that there are enough players seeking a year-round experience and that the team formed will be placed well in a NorCal Premier league competition level. 

The base fee for AYSO United Davis’ 24/25 season is $1650 per player.

This includes costs for league games (Fall and Spring), State Cup (U13+), referees, field rentals for a full year of soccer, picture day package, summer team camp, team Veo camera, team equipment, and 2-3 tournaments.

AYSO United Davis is committed to creating opportunities for players from all backgrounds. Thanks to the generous donations of our community, we can offer player scholarships for families in need. Payments plans are also offered.

Program costs rose by $170 annually compared to the 23/24 season due to increased field maintenance expenses and the addition of Veo cameras for all teams. Some teams do additional tournaments (avg ~$70/ player) that add to the base cost but most soccer expenses for the year are incorporated in.

At United, we are passionate about soccer and we believe in the power of community. We prioritize soccer, but we also understand the importance of a well-rounded life and fully support our players' involvement in other extracurricular activities. United players are out and about participating in just about any other youth-focused organization in Davis. We have ongoing conversations with other sport organizations pre-season and in-season so that we can best support athletes that are doing both.
